THE HUMAN LEARNING ONLY BRINGS THE WEAKENING OF THE GENERATIONS
"The human being himself begets, grows up to a certain point, starts to ripen and after being ripe, he falls without being able to walk, or dies before. Everything in the world is this way, even nature herself, which causes everything and everyone to be this whay until coming to their end. Everything tires and in accordance to the tiredness, there comes the weakening, the annihilation in everything and over everything generally, both in the plants as well as the animal beings. Everything comes to its end.
Three hundred year ago nature was stronger. Six hundred years ago, still stronger. Nine hundred years ago, much stronger still. The more distant the ages from our epoch, the stronger was nature, more powerful in everything than it is presently.
The humans lasted much longer, their built was of giants and Hercules, they were rustic, peaceable and calm people. But dating from that time, everything waned more and more, and everything waning through the progress of degeneration. The son is weaker than the father because of being made from the rest of his father; the grandfather stronger than the son and the grandson, because of their being products of his rest; and the great-grandfather, the great-great-great-grandfather, each one stronger and so on."
